Advantages of using CALL
When talking about CALL and its features we have to take into account the following aspects.
- It is focused on individualization, which means developing the skills of every student in your classroom.
- It promotes the use of the target language through the approach.
- Using CALL is more interesting and engaging rather than other approaches.
- Interest and motivation
- A compatible learning style
- Immediate feedback
- Individualization
- Optimal use of learning time
- Error análisis
- Guided and repetitive practice
- Pre-determined to process syllabus
Disadvantages of using CALL
As we have benefits using CALL in the classrooms, also we have the opposite, disadvantages.
- Less-handy equipment.
- Increased educational costs.
- Lack of trained teachers.
- Imperfect current CALL programs
- Inability to handle unexpected situations
The most relevant disadvantage is the cost, even in private education there are schools where the computer room is still not developed, that is why it is so relevant. If teachers do not have access to proper rooms they will fail to apply CALL.
